Top of the Mountain Ecumenical Council Hosts Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish
On Tuesday, November 24, at 7 p.m., the Top of the Mountain Ecumenical Council (TOMEC) will hold its annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at our parish. Everyone is invited to attend this service to celebrate and give thanks for the many gifts in our lives. Additionally, the service will be broadcast live on both Zoom and Facebook Live.
Reverend Janice Puliti, Pastor of Pocono Lake United Methodist Church, will be the primary speaker, while the spiritual leaders and members of the eight congregations that comprise TOMEC will also participate in the service. An offering will be collected for the Top of the Mountain Ecumenical Food Pantry at Five Loaf House in Pocono Pines. Social distancing rules will be in place and masks are required at all times while inside the church.
TOMEC is the cooperative effort of eight congregations on the Pocono Plateau – Blakeslee United Methodist Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Iglesia La Gran Comision, Pocono Lake United Methodist Church, Pocono Lake Wesleyan Church, Salem United Church of Christ, St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish and Congregation B’Nai Harim Reform Synagogue – and strives to meet the spiritual needs of the people in Tobyhanna, Tunkhannock and parts of Coolbaugh Township.
