The St. John the Baptist Eve bonfire is one of the oldest feasts in the Catholic Church. In an attempt to incorporate the traditions of as many cultures as possible, we will have a nice campfire, lit by a man named John. The fire represents the light in the darkness that is Christ. We will have prayers, music, and games. Bring your camping chair, your food and drinks. We'll have a bbq grill going, too.
We will also use the fire to burn all church intention slips from the year, last year's palm and any Sacramentals you may want to bring. A list of Sacramentals is found below.
At the end of the evening, prepare to get doused as we all put the fire to rest together!
