Founded on the principles of charity, unity and fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
As part of a K of C awareness campaign, OUR council is spearheading a Pro-Life awareness campaign which includes 3 specific messages on 7 digital billboards. They have been running since July 1st and will run in Monroe County this July, August and September. The billboards in the immediate area are: RT 940 at 380, 611 near ShopRite and on 2 on RT 80 East and West. There are others in Monroe County. Several area councils are assisting but with more funding, we can expand the program. 100% of funds received for this project go directly to the bill board project. If you would like to participate, see any knight at Mass or click the link below for pro-life donations. Thank you for your support in all we do.
The founder of the Knights of Columbus, Father Michael J. McGivney was a central figure in the growth of Catholicism in America, and he remains a model today. His example of charity, evangelization and empowerment of the laity continues to bear fruit and guide Knights of Columbus around the world.
