We Worship, We Teach, We Care.
Below is a list of the non-profit organizations that the committee supports through various collections of essential items and funds each year. In addition to donations sent directly by parishioners, the Social Concerns Committee was able to donate $150 each to Family Promise, Women’s Resources, and Nurse-Family Partnership. Please join us in praying for our brothers and sisters in need and for those who serve them.

Kudos to the members of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish Social Concerns Committee, along with a group of very dedicated parishioners, who in August prepared 18 meals for Family Promise of Monroe County. Family Promise is a non-profit organization that supports homeless families with children.
Earlier this month, members of the Social Concerns Committee received an urgent request to support a homeless family of four – a mother and her three children, including a five-month-old infant. The very next day, the St. Max team delivered four days of fully cooked meals to the family.
After that, the cooks committed to providing another three meals to be delivered the following week. As the committee was working to support this family, another homeless family of four reached out to Family Promise for support and the St. Max ladies went right to work cooking for them as well, delivering fully cooked meals for two weeks straight. The committee will continue to support this family in the beginning of September as well.
Enid Logan, Director of Family Promise, wrote in a letter to the committee, “A note of thanks for helping to feed our sheltered families the past two weeks. It is wonderful to know I can rely on you and I want you to know we appreciate all that you do for Family Promise.”
Thank you to parishioners Sue Snell, Mary Miraglia, Lynnette Smith, Joan Luethi, Sharon Altadonna, Beverly Martinetz, Ann Negvesky, Sally Jones, Marie-Claude Chalvignac, Jeanne Mohlenhoff, Maureen Rinehimer and Terry Logan, as well as friends of St. Max Gabe Glaesser and Michael Kelley.
